Israeli Strikes on Gaza Hospital Kill 20, Five Journalists Among the Dead
Israeli strikes on Nasser hospital in southern Gaza killed at least 20 people Monday, including five journalists covering the war, Palestinian health officials said. The hospital in Khan Younis was hit twice within minutes. The first blast struck an upper floor used by reporters, killing Reuters cameraman Hussam al-Masri. US Jets Intercept Russian Aircraft Near Alaska for Third Time in a Week
U.S. Air Force fighters intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft in the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) on Sunday, the third such encounter in less than a week, according to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian Orlan-30 reconnaissance drone that had been modified to carry smaller strike drones, the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported. The unit said the “mother drone” it shot down was carrying two quadcopter-style drones under its wings. Air Force Clears M18 Pistol for Use After Inspection Following Airman’s Death
The Air Force command responsible for operating and securing nuclear weapons has resumed use of the Sig Sauer M18 pistol after completing inspections prompted by the fatal shooting of an airman at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. The Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) grounded its 7,970 pistols on July 21, a day after 21-year-old Airman 1st Class Brayden Lovan died from a gunshot wound. US Approves Transfer of 3,350 Long-Range ERAM Strike Missiles to Ukraine
The Trump administration has authorized the transfer of 3,350 Extended Range Attack Munitions (ERAMs) to Ukraine in an $850 million package largely funded by European allies, The Wall Street Journal reported. The Pentagon released the Mexican Border Defense Medal, replacing the Armed Forces Service Medal for troops deployed to the southern border. Modeled after the 1918 Mexican Border Service Medal, it features a bronze gladius and yellow-green ribbon.
