Hamas Fighters Raid IDF Encampment in Southern Gaza, Three Soldiers Wounded
At least 18 Hamas operatives launched a coordinated assault on an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) encampment in southern Gaza on Wednesday morning, injuring three soldiers, according to the IDF. The attack began around 9 a.m., when operatives emerged from a tunnel in Khan Younis and advanced toward the outpost, while firing machine guns and anti-tank weapons, according to the IDF. German Jets Scrambled From Romania After Russian Strikes Near NATO Border
Two German Eurofighter Typhoons were scrambled overnight from Romania after Russia launched drones and missiles against Ukraine near the NATO frontier, Romania’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday. A U.S. Navy warship erupted in flames Wednesday while anchored off Okinawa, burning for 12 hours before the blaze was extinguished early Thursday, local media reported. Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden helped save an 11-year-old boy’s life after a car crash on Interstate 35 in Iowa over the weekend. Van Orden told the Washington Examiner that he was driving with his family near Osceola on Saturday when he saw a Dodge Grand Caravan veer off the road and break apart. Gabbard Unveils Plan to Cut ODNI Workforce by 40%
National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard said Wednesday she will cut about 40% of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s (ODNI) workforce and close several offices as part of a restructuring plan called “ODNI 2.0.” In a news release, Gabbard said the initiative will reduce ODNI’s staff from about 1,850 to 1,300 by September 23.
