Israel Launches New Operations in Syria After Strikes on Military Sites

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of strikes on a former army barracks in Kiswa, southwest of Damascus, Syria’s state-run Al-Ekhbariya TV reported Wednesday. Ukrainian ‘Ghost’ Sniper Claims Record 2.5-Mile Kill Using AI and Drones

A Ukrainian sniper has set a new world record by killing two Russian soldiers with a single shot from 4,000 meters (2.5 miles). According to military journalist Yurii Butusov, the record-breaking shot was fired by the Pryvyd (Ghost) sniper detachment along the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad defensive line on August 14. (Read More)


US Jets Track Russian IL-20 Spy Plane Near Alaska for Fourth Time in a Week

U.S. fighter jets intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft near Alaska on Tuesday, the fourth such incident in seven days, according to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). In a news release, NORAD said the IL-20 COOT, a Cold War-era surveillance plane, entered the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), which lies just outside U.S. and Canadian airspace. NORAD deployed an E-3 Sentry, two F-16s, and a KC-135 tanker to monitor the flight. (Read More)

General Atomics’ YFQ-42A Fighter Drone Conducts First Flight

The U.S. Air Force announced that General Atomics’ YFQ-42A prototype has flown for the first time in California, marking a key milestone in the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. The YFQ-42A is one of two Increment 1 designs competing under the effort, alongside Anduril Industries’ YFQ-44A. The U.S. Army has begun production of the second tranche of its Short Range Reconnaissance (SRR) unmanned aircraft systems as part of its push to modernize battlefield capabilities. In a news release, the Army announced that Teal Drones, along with its Black Widow system, has been selected to produce the SRR platform, which will equip the service’s Transformation in Contact (TIC) units. Turkey Unveils ‘Steel Dome’ Air Defense System

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday inaugurated the country’s new Steel Dome air defense system, which he called a turning point for national security and the defense industry. Developed by state-owned firms and led by contractor Aselsan, the system integrates missile batteries, radar units, electronic warfare platforms, and command centers into a multi-layered shield against aerial threats.
