Anthropic Warns Its Unreleased AI Model Poses Unprecedented Cybersecurity Risks

Anthropic is restricting access to its unreleased AI, Claude Mythos Preview, over fears it could be misused to exploit software vulnerabilities. The model has already detected thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities across major operating systems and browsers, according to Anthropic.

Through Project Glasswing, leading tech firms, including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Nvidia, will test Mythos Preview. Anthropic is backing the initiative with $100 million in usage credits and $4 million in direct support to open-source security organizations. (Read More)


Trump Announces Two-Week Ceasefire with Iran Hours Before 8pm Deadline

U.S. President Trump announced a two-week suspension of strikes against Iran on Tuesday, just hours before his 8 p.m. deadline. He said the pause will give both sides time to finalize an agreement.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed Tehran’s acceptance, stating, “If attacks against Iran are halted, our powerful armed forces will cease their defensive operations.” He added that Iran will permit “safe passage” through the Strait of Hormuz “via coordination with Iran’s armed forces.” (Read More)


Australia's Most Decorated Living Soldier Charged with Five War Crime Murders in Afghanistan

Australia’s most decorated living soldier Ben Roberts-Smith, 47, was arrested Tuesday and charged with five counts of war crimes related to the killing of unarmed civilians in Afghanistan between 2009 and 2012.

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett said the victims were not involved in hostilities at the time of their deaths. She added that they were shot either by Roberts-Smith himself or by subordinates acting on his orders. Roberts-Smith, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a bail hearing on the war crime charges. (Read More)

Iran-linked hackers have disrupted U.S. industrial and critical infrastructure systems, federal agencies say. A joint advisory from U.S. cybersecurity, intelligence and law enforcement agencies says the attacks exploited operational technology in government, water and energy sectors, causing operational disruptions and financial losses. Three gunmen opened fire near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul, injuring two police officers, according to Turkish authorities. One attacker was killed, and two others were captured. Israel and Turkey have described the incident as an act of terror. (Read More)

Indianapolis City-County Council member Ron Gibson reported that more than a dozen bullets were fired at his home Monday morning, and a handwritten note reading “No Data Centers,” believed to reference his support for a proposed 14-acre, $500 million datacenter, was left on his doorstep. The CIA allegedly deployed a classified device called “Ghost Murmur” during the F-15E rescue in Iran, marking its first operational use. The system reportedly uses quantum magnetometry to detect human heartbeats across vast distances. (Read More)

General Atomics’ YFQ-42A Dark Merlin drone wingman prototype crashed shortly after takeoff from its California test facility, prompting a temporary halt in flight testing for the Air Force’s Collaborative Combat Aircraft program. No injuries were reported. (Read More)

A previously unseen Ukrainian sea drone, likely a Sargan-3000 armed with a remotely operated machine-gun mount and explosives, was spotted during a strike attempt on Russia’s Novorossiysk naval base.
