The U.S. forces destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying vessels on Tuesday, responding to intelligence that Tehran began laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil shipments.

A senior U.S. official told Axios that the strike targeted inactive ships as a preemptive measure. Sources cited by CNN said that Iran’s mine-laying activity so far appears limited, with only a few dozen mines reportedly deployed in recent days. (Read More)

Persistent Connectivity for BLOS Missions

Beyond Line of Sight operations fail when communications fail. Difficult terrain, contested spectrum, and single points of failure can cut the link between operators and uncrewed systems at the worst possible moment.

Elsight's Halo was built to solve this problem. The platform aggregates all available spectrum, including embedded LTE/5G, Radio (P2P/MANET), and SATCOM, into a single resilient connection. A logic layer continuously steers traffic to the healthiest path, so if one link degrades, the system adapts without dropping C2 connectivity, telemetry, or video.

Halo is battlefield-proven, low SWaP, and deploys in minutes. It was recently awarded by the Defense Innovation Unit under Project GI for reliable connectivity in contested domains.
