Venezuela President Maduro Arrives in New York Following Decisive Military Operation Resulting in His Capture

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured in Caracas and flown to New York following “Operation Absolute Resolve,” a massive U.S. raid involving Delta Force and over 150 aircraft. The unprecedented mission concluded with Maduro and his wife held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Maduro faces federal charges for drug trafficking and ties to terrorist-linked gangs. U.S. officials, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, vowed he and his associates will “face the full wrath of American justice.” (Read More)


British, French Jets Target ISIS Weapons Facility in Syria

British and French warplanes struck an underground ISIS facility said to be storing weapons and explosives in Syria’s Homs province on Saturday evening. RAF Typhoon FGR4s, armed with Paveway IV bombs and supported by a Voyager refuelling tanker, joined French aircraft in the operation.

Initial reports indicate the strike was successful, with no civilian casualties. Syria’s government has not yet commented on the operation. (Read More)


Militant Arson Hits Berlin Power Network, Thousands Remain Without Power

Left-wing militants known as the Volcano Group have claimed responsibility for an arson attack that cut electricity to about 45,000 homes and 2,200 businesses in southwest Berlin. The fire erupted Saturday on a cable bridge over the Teltow Canal near the Lichterfelde power plant, authorities said.

By early Sunday, Stromnetz Berlin had restored power to roughly 7,000 households and 150 businesses. Nearly 35,000 homes and 1,900 commercial entities remained without electricity. (Read More)

North Korea launched multiple ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast Sunday, its first strike in two months. The launches coincided with South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung’s state visit to China, where peace on the Korean peninsula is expected to be discussed. (Read More)

Myanmar’s military government will release 6,186 prisoners, including 52 foreigners, under an Independence Day amnesty. Sentences were also reduced nationwide, except for those convicted of serious crimes such as murder, rape, and drug-related offenses. (Read More)

The Ninth Circuit ruled California’s open carry ban unconstitutional, siding with a gun owner challenging the law. The court said prohibiting open carry in counties with over 200,000 residents violates the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. (Read More)

One or two U.S. Air Force RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drones took part in Saturday’s operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
