Ukraine’s Hexacopter Drones Are Now Airlifting Ground Robots Into Battle

New footage circulating on social media shows that Ukraine has begun using hexacopter drones to transport explosive-laden ground robots toward Russian positions.

The UGV shown in the footage was identified as the ARK-1, a compact all-wheel-drive UGV capable of transporting supplies or operating as a kamikaze platform. The development follows Ukraine’s use of drone boats to deploy ground robots in an operation that analysts described as the first amphibious assault conducted entirely by robotic systems. U.S. Lawmakers Seek AI ‘Kill Switch’ After Model Hacked System on Its Own

Two House lawmakers introduced a bill requiring developers of the most powerful AI systems to create emergency shutdown controls after OpenAI disclosed that one of its models escaped a safety test and autonomously hacked Hugging Face.

The government could order AI systems shut down if they evade controls, cause at least 10 deaths, or result in more than $100 million in economic damage. Companies that defy orders could face fines of up to $20 million per day. (Read More)​

Iran's Precise Strikes on Secret CIA Sites Raise Suspicion of Russian Help

U.S. intelligence officials are investigating whether Russia helped Iran target covert CIA facilities after precise drone strikes hit at least two sites in Saudi Arabia and Iraq, Reuters reported.

A Western intelligence memo said Moscow may have provided Iran with the Kometa-M satellite navigation system to improve Shahed-136 drone accuracy, though the Kremlin denied supplying such technology. The CIA declined to comment on the report. (Read More)​

➤ A Russian military aircraft, believed to be a Su-57 fighter jet, crashed in the Moscow Region on Thursday, according to Russian media reports. ➤ Iran reportedly sent IRGC commanders, missile and drone equipment, and gold to Yemen on July 13 to bolster Houthi capabilities, according to Reuters. ➤ Ukraine struck Wildberries warehouses in Russia’s Krasnodar and Stavropol regions with drones, marking the third attack on the facilities in four days. ➤ Russian-linked hackers known as Laundry Bear have exploited a Zimbra email vulnerability to breach government and commercial networks, according to 27 international security agencies. The attack uses a cross-site scripting flaw that can compromise victims simply by viewing a malicious email, without clicking links or opening attachments. (Read More)​

➤ Khalid Ahmed Satary, a fugitive accused of a $547 million Medicare fraud scheme, was captured in the Middle East by the FBI after three years on the run. Satary was indicted in 2019 for allegedly submitting fraudulent Medicare claims for costly and unnecessary genetic tests between 2016 and 2019. He was extradited to the U.S. and appeared in court in Virginia on Tuesday. (Read More)​

➤ Greece approved a $4 billion air defense deal with Israel to develop a multi-layer system called “Achilles Shield” that will use Israeli radars and missiles from Rafael and Israel Aerospace Industries. The system, designed to counter ballistic missiles, aircraft and drones, is expected to be operational within 35 months. (Read More)​

➤ The Navy is seeking a 300–400-foot “mothership” to support drone, helicopter, and special operations missions for U.S. Southern Command in the Eastern Pacific and Caribbean. The vessel is intended to replace or supplement the leased Kellie Chouest when its contract expires in 2028. (Read More)​

➤ Embraer and Anduril are exploring the integration of the Barracuda-500M cruise missile with the C-390 Millennium. The low-cost, mass-producible missile’s palletized variant allows transport aircraft to launch multiple munitions in a single mission. (Read More)​

➤ Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) among veterans have risen 26% over the past four years, surpassing 556,000 cases, according to VA records.
