Footage Shows Rescue of U.S. Airmen Shot Down Over Iran

Declassified videos released by the U.S. military show the rescue of two U.S. Air Force airmen after their F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down over Iran on April 2.

The pilot was rescued shortly after the crash, while the injured weapons systems officer hid behind enemy lines for two days before being rescued. Hundreds of military and intelligence personnel supported the operation. (Read More)

U.S. Deploys Space-Control Weapons in Orbit, Air Force Secretary Says

The U.S. has deployed space-control weapons into orbit, Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said. He did not identify the systems but said they are intended to defend U.S. forces against hostile actions in space.

Meink also said the Space Force has reached the “flight ready” stage for space-based missile interceptors under President Donald Trump’s Golden Dome initiative, while the first satellites for a new air-moving target indication constellation are expected to launch this month. (Read More)

Debris of Chinese DF-15A Ballistic Missile Found in Yemen

Debris from a Chinese-made DF-15A ballistic missile has surfaced in Marib, Yemen, as fighting between Houthi forces and Yemen’s internationally recognized government intensifies around the city.

It is unclear who launched the missile. Some analysts believe the debris could indicate the first combat use of Saudi Arabia’s long-secret stockpile of Chinese-made missiles, while others believe the Houthis may have launched it. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense and the Houthis have not commented on the reported incident. (Read More)
