CIA Provides Key Intelligence for Caribbean Drug Boat Strikes

The CIA is supplying real-time satellite and signal intelligence for Trump administration strikes on suspected drug-smuggling boats in the Caribbean, according to The Guardian. The report says the agency tracks vessels it believes are carrying narcotics and recommends which should be targeted by missiles.

Intelligence gathered by the CIA is expected to remain classified, limiting public oversight despite international concern over civilian casualties. The Trump administration has disclosed seven strikes so far, releasing only casualty numbers and claims that the boats carried drugs.

Trump recently cited U.S. intelligence in a post about a semi-submersible he called a “drug-carrying submarine” that was targeted in the most recent strike. (Read More)

British Troops Join Gaza Ceasefire Monitoring Effort

The UK has deployed a senior officer and a small military team to Israel to help monitor the fragile Gaza ceasefire at the request of the United States, Defence Secretary John Healey confirmed. The British Major General will serve as deputy to a U.S. commander leading a new civil-military coordination centre.

The centre, which includes personnel from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the UAE, is tasked with coordinating humanitarian aid and post-conflict planning for Gaza. British troops will not enter the strip or engage in combat.

Earlier this month, U.S. officials said up to 200 troops based in the Middle East would be moved to Israel to support the mission. Healey’s announcement follows Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Israel, where he said the ceasefire’s implementation was “going better than expected.” (Read More)

Extremists Attack Palestinian Olive Harvesters in West Bank

Israeli extremist settlers launched a string of violent assaults on Palestinian olive harvesters in the West Bank over the past two days, leaving several injured. The attacks occurred near the towns of Turmus Ayya, al-Mughayyir, and Taybeh.

Videos showed masked assailants, believed to be settlers, beating harvesters with clubs, torching vehicles, and stealing equipment. In one case, a 52-year-old woman was struck on the head.

Israeli forces were dispatched to the scene following reports of arson and physical assaults. The Israel Defense Forces condemned the violence and said it was working to ensure the safety of Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. The Israeli police have already opened an investigation into the incidents. (Read More)
