U.S. B-1 Bombers Conduct Rare Caribbean Flights Near Venezuela

The U.S. Air Force flew two B-1B Lancer bombers near Venezuelan airspace Thursday, according to open source reports. The aircraft, callsigned “BAT-21” and “BAT-22,” departed from Florida with three KC-135 Stratotankers.

According to the reports, the flight path suggests a potential approach toward Venezuelan airspace. Analysts say this is an unusual Caribbean deployment for B-1Bs, far from their typical zones in Europe, the Middle East, and the Pacific. The development comes after President Donald Trump threatened a strike on Venezuelan soil.

On Thursday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, who has repeatedly denounced U.S. military activity in the Caribbean, said “more than 5,000” Russian-made Igla-S missiles are ready to defend the country. (Read More)

Israel Launches Airstrikes on Hezbollah Sites in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley

The Israeli Air Force launched coordinated airstrikes Thursday in Lebanon’s eastern Beqaa Valley and northern regions, hitting multiple Hezbollah positions.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), five fighter jets struck 16 targets, including a camp used to plan attacks and a precision missile facility that has been targeted in past operations. Military officials said the attacks were in response to ongoing Hezbollah buildup near the border, calling the group’s actions a violation of prior agreements with Lebanon and a threat to Israeli security.

The attacks came a day after the IDF killed Issa Ahmad Karbala, a commander in Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force, in southern Lebanon. (Read More)

China’s State Oil Firms Halt Russian Crude Buys After U.S. Sanctions

Chinese state-owned oil giants have paused seaborne purchases of Russian crude after Washington sanctioned Moscow’s top energy firms, Rosneft and Lukoil, Reuters reported.

According to the report, PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, and Zhenhua Oil have already suspended Russian oil deals, though smaller independent refiners continue limited imports.

The move comes as India, the largest importer of Russian seaborne crude, prepares to scale back purchases in compliance with the new U.S. sanctions. The measure will take effect on Nov. 21, giving traders nearly a month to wind down existing business with Rosneft and Lukoil. (Read More)
